GUN CONTROL.

In the United States, the Second Amendment is a right that has been given to people within its borders since the birth of our country, though, in modern times, these rights are being abused by unlawful citizens and criminals.  America needs federally regulated gun laws that will make our country just as safe and secure as the military, which works as a well oiled machine. A solid, uniform gun act, only under the federal government, would be key in providing the insurance of safety among civilians, without infringing on their rights. Such a policy, of letting all gun laws be run and made by the federal government, would entail fixed laws that need to take place—no matter what state you live in, they would always be standard in the USA.

Our party aims to put non-restrictive gun laws into place during our presidency. If we adopted nation wide, universal firearm training courses, people would understand their guns deeper, and know how to use them to protect themselves fully to the extent of the law. The military uses extensive training as a tactic to ensure that all their soldiers understand the weapons they are using. It should be the same within civilian firearm purchases. Some states already require a safety certificate upon purchasing a gun, so nationally, it would make sense in efforts to prevent unintentional accidents or shootings. An individual would have to complete a firearms safety course before being able to request a background check that would enable them to buy the gun. These safety certificates for taking the class would have to be renewed every ten years.
